The NESF’s report on cultural inclusion, published on 22nd March, highlights the value of a broadly based library network and its usage as key factors in promoting social cohesion. The report found that the public considers libraries as accessible and, referring to the views of arts officers and library staff, stated that art exhibitions in libraries receive greater support than in other venues, as people find the spaces more familiar and less formal. The Director of An Chomhairle Leabharlanna, Norma McDermott, has welcomed the report.
