The National Library of Ireland is presenting a programme of free cutural events this autumn/winter. Library Late is a series of public interviews of well-known authors, while Musical Reflections is a series of concerts devoted to “Irish composers and historical musical figures.

Tuesday October 16 2007 at 8pm: Carlo Gébler, in conversation with Kay Sheehy.

There is also free admission to a series of Musical Reflections, taking place in the National Library until November 2007. The concerts serve to give a new focus to the music collections of the library. Each concert aims to feature rarely-performed Irish works, along with some more renowned works. Concerts take place on Wednesday evenings in the Seminar Room of the National Library, beginning at 6.30. Bookings are essential and can be made by telephoning: 01 6030229.

September 26 2007: Fallen Leaves from an Irish Piano Album, presented and performed by Una Hunt
October 10 2007: The Music for the Drawing-Room Harp, presented and performed by Andreja Malir, guest artist Fionnuala Hunt.
October 24 2007: Musical Connections from Oscborne to Chopin, Ferenc Szücs – Cello, Una Hunt – Piano
November 7 2007: A Sheaf of Songs, Edel O’Brien – mezzo soprano, Una Hunt – piano.
