The Irish Film Institute (IFI) the national body charged with the promotion of film culture, invites applications for the position of Librarian /Document Archivist. Part of the IFI, the Irish Film Archive holds an extensive collection of documents, posters and images relating to Irish film culture and its Library holds a wealth of published material on Irish and international cinema.
The successful candidate must have a postgraduate qualification in Archiving or Librarianship. They will be an enthusiastic, flexible person, with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, who will be able to work effectively on their own or as part of a dynamic team. They will also have excellent database and information management experience and be familiar with managing digital assets. They will have an interest in film and film culture.
As the post holder will have responsibility for the Irish Film Archive’s document and photographic collection experience of dealing with this type of material would be a distinct advantage. This position would suit a competent early career Librarian or Archivist.
