Dublin City Public Libraries collects an award for promoting diversity and multiculturalism

Dublin City Public Libraries‘ programme of summer activities which went under the title, Many Faces, Many Places was honoured with the 2008 Mama award for initiative and excellence in the Multicultural Category. Through a range of activities, including music, fairy tales, dance, rap, storytelling and art, Many Faces, Many Places set out to inform children about other cultures, as well as giving them a chance to learn more about their own.
The awards, which are in their seventh year, were established by Metro Éireann, with the aim of acknowledging people, groups, companies, institutions and media platforms that promote diversity and multiculturalism in Ireland.
The 2008 award ceremony took place in The Abbey Theatre on Thursday November 27 2008.
