(CLOSED) Vacancy – Director, National Library of Ireland

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Director of the National Library of Ireland.
Consistent with its statutory remit, the mission of the National Library is “to collect, promote and make accessible the documentary and intellectual record of the life of Ireland and to contribute to the provision of access to the larger universe of recorded knowledge”.
Reporting to the Board of the National Library, the Director is the Chief Executive and has responsibility for the day to day management of the organisation and for leading, developing and overseeing policy development and implementation in the modern information and digital age.
The successful candidate will have well developed strategic and operational management skills and a proven track record of achievement at a senior level in an appropriate environment.
Tenure: The position is a three year fixed term contract to take account of the planned merger of the National Archives and the Irish Manuscripts Commission into the National Library. The post is also subject to a detailed employment contract.
Salary Scale: €97,617-€113,141. A different pay scale may apply to existing civil/public servants.
