Kildare County Library and Arts Services are delighted to announce that the inaugural Kildare Readers’ Festival will take place in Naas, Co. Kildare from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th May 2010. The aim of the festival is to provide readers from our many book clubs and the general public with an opportunity to meet and discuss their favourite books with fellow book lovers, be inspired to join a book club and share the experience of reading.
There is a wonderful line up of world class authors attending the festival, including Dermot Bolger, John Connolly, Claire Keegan, Brian Keenan, John Minihan, Joseph O’ Connor, Sheila O’Flanagan and many more. Events will include author readings, interviews and signings, a walking tour, drama performances and an opportunity to meet with other book lovers. The programme was officially launched at Riverbank Arts Centre on Monday 19th April 2010 by the Mayor of Kildare, Cllr. Colm Purcell and events have been booking speedily ever since.
