The Nippon Foundation of Japan has a book donation scheme which is intended to promote an understanding of contemporary Japan. To this end, the Foundation makes donations of English language books about Japan to libraries worldwide. Last year approximately 300 libraries, mainly in the US and Europe, benefited from the scheme.
The Foundation is currently accepting applications for material from libraries.
