Assistant Librarian – Cataloguer (print items).
In association with FÁS, the Irish Traditional Music Archive is now offering a nine-month Graduate Work Placement Programme. This position as Assistant Librarian-Cataloguer (print items) is open to individuals possessing a degree, and a post-graduate qualification in librarianship. The role mainly involves the re-editing of existing electronic records to AACR2 standard and their conversion for Internet publication in the Archive’s online web catalogue. Some opportunities will also be given to work in the reader services area and in other areas of the Archive’s audiovisual activities.This library position requires a high level of accuracy, as well as good social skills and adaptability. Knowledge of music and Irish an advantage.
