Applications are invited from experienced, flexible and highly-motivated personnel for the challenging role of Genealogist for the Ireland Reaching Out (Ireland XO) Project.
The contract position is on a full-time basis and will initially be awarded for six months with the possibility of an extension for a further six months. It will be based at the offices of Ireland Reaching Out in Loughrea.
Minimum requirements for the position include:
- Relevant third level qualifications in Family History Research, History, Social History, Archival Studies, Librarianship, Geography, Local History, and Archaeology with relevant experience working as a professional genealogical researcher.
- Experience of managing projects at an appropriate senior level; and
- Full driving licence.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with high-quality analytical, organisational and management skills. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate:
- A clear understanding of genealogical and family history principles and practice.
- Ability to analyse, interpret, lead on and respond to proposals and projects.
- Strong mentoring, teaching and facilitation skills.
- Excellent project co-ordination, management and implementation skills.
The contract fee is €40,000 per annum pro rata (inclusive of all taxes payable) in respect of a 38 hour week and will include evening and weekend work.
