Bisto Awards Shadowing Scheme poster 2011
Children in schools throughout Ireland are invited to read along with the Children’s Books Ireland Shadowing Scheme.
Participating classes and junior book clubs make their own selection of suitable titles from the ten books shortlisted for the Bisto Awards in March, using a specially devised free activity pack to guide them in their reading. Each group then votes for their favourite book and the winner of the shadowing award is announced following the official prize ceremony in May.
Many schools involved in the scheme work in partnership with their local public library service who will loan the necessary books.
