Meath from 25-27 May, 2012.

In keeping with the legacy of Laurence Gilson this Summer School will have an educational theme each year. The title for 2012 is ‘Gilson to Google: the changing face of education in Ireland’. Despite Ireland’s rich tradition as a nation of scholars, this Summer School will, we believe, be the first devoted entirely to education.

There will be a mix of Seminars exploring and discussing topics including lifelong learning, creativity in education and how technology is impacting on education. Confirmed speakers so far include Berni Brady, Chief Executive Officer of AONTAS, Ted Fleming, Centre for Research and Adult Learning NUIM, Leo Casey, Director, Centre for Research and Innovation in Learning and Teaching, NCI, Myles Dungan, RTE presenter, and Carmel Mulcahy, Department of Education Studies, DCU.

The Laurence Gilson Commmemoration Committee extends their special thanks to Ciaran Mangan.
