The international bestselling series of books by Eoin Colfer, Artemis Fowl, has inspired PlayStation®3 to launch an exciting new photographic competition for kids and teens in association with the Library Council and Penguin Books.
The initiative will appeal to 8 – 16 year olds who are encouraged to get their hands on a digital camera and get snapping over the next few weeks and bring their love of the 7 million-selling series of books to life in a photo.
The competition invites children across Ireland to capture an image they feel best represents their favourite Artemis Fowl book. The creative and educational dimension to this initiative does not stop there however. All photos will be uploaded by the PlayStation® team onto the PlayStation®3 console in participating libraries throughout Ireland in August where they will be stored for the judges to see.
The PlayStation® team will be visiting participating public libraries in towns throughout Ireland (see below for details) from Wednesday August 06 – Tuesday August 26 to accept and process all entries. On the day, budding photographers should bring their digital cameras containing their photo along with them and the PlayStation team will look after the rest.

Winners will be announced in September and will be selected by a judging panel made up of representatives of the Library Council, Penguin Books and PlayStation®. One winner will be chosen from each participating county council. As well as winning a Playstation® 3 console, each of the winners will also receive a once in a lifetime prize of a limited edition copy of an Artemis Fowl book with their own winning image on the cover.
